Browntail are an ever-present concern for our Maine communities, creating health problems and ecosystem damages every year.

We’re on a mission to change that.

By participating in our research, you’ll contribute to our development of an autonomous, AI-powered system designed to efficiently and safely manage browntail infestations.

Why Participate?

  • Innovative Technology: Be part of a cutting-edge research project that leverages artificial intelligence and aerial robotics to create a sustainable solution to browntail here in Maine.

  • Community Impact: Your participation will directly help build a scalable and rapid response to browntail, making affected Maine communities safer places to work and live.

How It Works:

  1. Reserve Your Spot: Fill out the form below to participate in the research. Once registered, you’ll receive all the necessary details about the project.

  2. Onboarding: Our team will guide you through the process, ensuring you understand the role you’ll play.

  3. Active Participation: Your involvement will include observations, providing feedback, and hosting an aerial lift with a robotic removal arm (shown above) on your property for testing and data collection in 2025, to help us develop scalable drone solutions for 2026.

  4. Make a Difference: Help shape the future of pest control, leading to safer, healthier communities.

FAQs:

  • Who can participate? Anyone with browntail on their properties in winter 2025, and who wants to be part of this research, is welcome to join.

  • What is the commitment? Your participation will involve allowing an aerial lift onto your property to operate on paved surfaces (i.e., roads, driveways, parking areas), and providing feedback. Please note we are only performing lift removals this year, limited to 50’ from paved surfaces, per lift restrictions.

  • Is there any cost? Yes, pricing starts at $150/tree, plus $5 per nest removed. Fees will cover research costs and you’ll be contributing to a vital environmental cause. There is a discount for 10+ adjoining trees ($75 per tree + $2.50 per nest removed).

  • How will my data be used? All data collected will be used strictly for research purposes to improve and refine the AI models to autonomously remove winter browntail nests via drones in 2026. Your privacy is our top priority.

Together, we can revolutionize how browntail infestations are handled, creating a safer, healthier environment for everyone.
